Guestbook with a twist

May 14, 2019

This time of year is really busy with confirmations in my country, and this year my niece had her confirmation. I wanted to make her a special gift, so she has a memory for life. I choose to make her a box for all the greeting cards from the day, and on top of the box, I made a guestbook.

The box is made from chipboard and covered with white Bazzil inside, and design paper from prima on the outside. And I decorated with some metal embellishment.

The guestbook is made from an old book. Most of the pages are folded in half, and then I attach the top book cover to the back cover with a strip of paper that I have used a border punch to make pretty. I decorated re rest of the book on all sides with Bazzil and design paper from Prima. I die cut «congratulations» and «confirmation» in Norwegian do have on the paper strips, and I handmade all the flowers with the Classic Rose set from heartfelt creations.
Last I made one tag for each guest so everyone could write their own little saying for her.

This gift took a lot of time to make, but it was totally worth it. She was happy, her parentes was happy, and the guest thougt it was a fun thing as well.

My recommendations for making this is to buy more paper than you think you need, do not rush it, glue the paper on with liquid glue for the box and let it dry really long before applying the next layer. The glue will make it more solid when it’s dry, and also because the book on top is heavy, the paper needs to be really sturdy.

If you want to see more of the things I made for this confirmation, they will be posted later this week:)
